Your Blue Bell Fun Run Race Day Guide

RACE DAY GUIDE 2025 Issue

Race day is almost here, and we want to make sure you have everything you need for a fun, smooth, and stress-free experience! Below is a step-by-step guide to help you navigate the event, from your arrival to enjoying that well-earned Blue Bell Ice Cream treat at the finish line.

Important Note

 This event increases the population of the small town of Brenham by about 50%. We urge the following for all participants and spectators:

    • Please be patient. This is a volunteer-supported event—everyone is doing their best.
    • Give yourself enough time. Arrive in designated parking lots an hour to an hour and a half prior to start time, especially if you are picking up your packet on race day.
    • Review FAQs. Check out our FAQ list that covers everything from location of water stations to running with a stroller.

🚗 Getting to the Event & Parking

Your race day adventure starts with getting to Washington County Fairgrounds (1305 E Blue Bell Rd, Brenham, TX 77833), where event parking is located. Use this address in your GPS to arrive at the correct lot.

Things to Keep in Mind:
✅ Arrive early—traffic will be heavy!
✅ Follow all signs and directions from police and sheriff’s deputies to keep traffic flowing.
✅ Be patient—we’re parking a lot of people!

Once you park, head to one of the designated shuttle pick-up spots for transportation to the start area at Brenham High School.

🚌 Shuttle to the Event Location (High School)

Shuttles will run continuously between the Fairgrounds parking lot and Brenham High School (the race start area).

🚍 What to Expect on the Shuttle:

  • The ride is short and easy.
  • Shuttles will drop off all participants at the high school.
  • Please be courteous and make room for others.

Once you step off the shuttle, you’re in the heart of the event!

🎽 Packet Pickup & Bib Setup

If you plan on picking up your packet early on Friday, you have the opportunity to do so from 4PM – 7PM at the Brenham High School Gym (525 A.H. Ehrig Drive, Brenham TX).

If you didn’t pick up your packet the day before, now is the time! Head to the designated Packet Pickup Area at the high school to get your race bib and T-shirt.


  • Make sure your bib is securely fastened to your front with safety pins.
  • Hydrate and stretch while waiting for your event’s start time.

    • ⏳ Start Times & Getting to the Starting Line

    Make sure you arrive at the high school at least 30 minutes before your race start to allow time for final preparations.

    Race Start Times & Locations:

    Get to the start line at the top of A.H. Ehrig Drive. If you want to use GPS to make the walk, this is the general location of starts for each race (except Kids’ Mile). Get to the start 15 minutes before your race time to ensure a smooth start!

    💧 Water Breaks & First Aid Along the Course

    Stay hydrated! Water stations and first aid tents are available along the route.

    • Check out the info below for exact locations of water and medical aid stations.
    • If you need assistance, volunteers and medical staff will be stationed along the course.

    🎉 The Finish Line & Post-Race Fun

    Crossing the finish line is a huge accomplishment—celebrate it! Here’s what to do after you complete your run:

    🏅 Awards & Self-Service Results:

    • Race results will be posted online and we’ve made it easier than ever to see your results!
    • Scan the QR code on your individual bib and it will take you directly to your results. If you’re in the top 3 of your age group or overall event, head to the awards area to pick up your medal.

    🍦 The Best Part – ICE CREAM!
    After you finish, head to the Blue Bell Ice Cream Truck to enjoy your well-earned treat!

    🚍 Returning to Your Car

    Once you’ve soaked in the post-race excitement, shuttles will take you back to the Fairgrounds parking lot.

    • Follow the marked shuttle pickup areas near the same area you were dropped off.
    • Be patient! We’re moving a LOT of people, and our team is working as quickly as possible.
    • Listen to police and event staff for smooth traffic flow back to and out of the parking lot.

    Best Kept Secret of the Day:

    Take your bib to the Country Store at Blue Bell Creameries from 9AM – Noon after the race. The friendly people at the shop will give you a free scoop of Blue Bell. And they have flavors you don’t see in stores!
